Integration of Batch Classification for
Inspection Lots
...
Characteristic values that you assign to a batch in SAP R/3 (batch classification) are transferred to SAP APO. Integration lots that belong to the same batch and that are transferred later automatically adopt these characteristic values (see the prerequisites below).
However, if you change the classification of the batch in SAP R/3 after the inspection lot has been transferred to SAP APO, the characteristic value (CDP) of the inspection lot is not automatically adjusted in SAP APO. This only happens when the inspection lot is transferred again.
If the characteristic values are assigned to the batch after the inspection lot has already been created in SAP APO, the following cases can occur:
· The characteristic values are assigned to the batch when the decision is made about posting the inspection lot to unrestricted-use stock. In this case, the characteristic values are automatically adopted for the stock.
· The characteristic values are assigned to the batch when the inspection lot has been created but has not yet been posted to stock. In this case, the inspection lots for this batch are not adjusted in SAP APO.
· Batches that are deactivated or archived in SAP R/3 are deleted in SAP APO as standard. For this, the system checks whether stocks still exist for the batch. If stocks still exist, deletion does not take place. However, there is no check for the existence of inspection lots in SAP APO. This means that the batch can be deleted although inspections lots still exist for this batch. The inspection lots retain the characteristic values that were assigned.
Batch classification can only adopt an inspection lot in SAP APO if the following prerequisites are met:
1. The class system in SAP APO is set to CDP.
2. Integration for batches, classes, and characteristics is active for the products concerned.
