Changeover to Inspection Lot
Integration
Prior to SAP R/3 Plug-In 2002.2 and SAP APO 3.1, inspection lots in SAP R/3 were transferred to SAP APO as stock in quality inspection. The following procedure describes how you can change over to the Integration of Inspection Lots.

In SAP R/3, if you want to convert a material master in such a way that inspection lots relevant to stock are created for this material in future, you first have to clear all stock in quality inspection. After this, the stock in quality inspection is managed using inspection lots.
We recommend that you change over to inspection lot integration at a time when planning is not being carried out in SAP APO. This is because temporary data inconsistencies can occur during the changeover. For this reason, you should also deactivate automatic planning.
● Inspection lots exist in SAP R/3 that were previously transferred to SAP APO as stock in quality inspection.
● Old stock in quality inspection exists in SAP APO.
1. As described in Integration of Inspection Lots, set the Inspection Lots Allowed indicator in the implementation guide for the Core Interface (CIF).
2. Create an integration model for the relevant materials but do not activate it yet.
3. Deactivate the integration model for stocks for the material for which inspection lots are to be transferred in future.
4. Reactivate the integration model for stocks. In SAP APO, the stock in quality inspection is deleted for materials for which a corresponding inspection type is set in the material master.
5. Activate the integration model for inspection lots. Inspection lots are transferred to SAP APO.
This sequence is recommended if you want to use the CDP characteristics of your batches for inspection lots. The characteristic valuations are transferred with the stock in quality inspection; therefore, you should retransfer them before sending the inspection lots.
If you do not want to use the CDP characteristics of your batches for inspection lots, you can transfer the inspection lots first and then retransfer the stocks. In this case, you temporarily have both inspection lots and stock in quality inspection in SAP APO.
You can also use the compare/reconcile function instead of deactivating and then reactivating the integration model for stocks to delete the stock in quality inspection in SAP APO. This is possible if only some of your materials are relevant to inspection lots.

1. Include the material/plant combination in an existing integration model or create a new integration model.
2. Activate the integration model. In SAP APO, the newly transferred inspection lots and the old stock in quality inspection now exist in tandem.
3. Run the compare/reconcile function for stocks for this material. The compare/reconcile function identifies superfluous stock in quality inspection in SAP APO. You execute the reconcile by choosing Send to APO or Delete in APO.
