With this business function you can use the material replacement and rules-based ATP check functions provided by SAP Supply Chain Managment (SCM) in the Manufacturer Parts Number component (IS-AD-MPN). This enables you to implement these comprehensive SCM functions during configuration control, when posting goods receipts and issues with the goods movement transaction (MIGO), and when processing maintenance orders (component change).
This business function augments the existing interchangeability functions in SAP ERP with the specific SAP SCM functions (as of SAP SCM, release 5.1), enabling you to optimize both the search for interchangeable parts as well as the availability check.
If you also implement the Defense Forces & Public Security (DFPS) component and the respective business function DFPS, Deployed Logistics (DFPS_OF_DEPL_LOG
), you can use the enhanced advice code function during the rules-based ATP check for the components of a maintenance order. This automatically enters an advice code in the material reservations for the components so that once you have confirmed a material replacement for a component, no further replacement procedures for materials are possible.

Goods issue (transaction MIGO_GI)
Create and change maintenance orders (transactions IW31/32)
You can use BAdI: Customer Adjustment for Configuration Control and ATP (AD_MPN_RBA_IC) to make customer-specific adjustments to the information about the installation location (iPPE structure nodes).
