An area for which the system optimizes the schedule during optimization.

The optimization range is defined by the following:

• The optimization horizon
• The resources that are transferred to the optimization

During optimization, the system can only change the schedule within the optimization range; that is, it can only reschedule activities that lie completely within the optimization range.
