Use

In the explanation log, you can view explanations of the result, in order to understand the results of an optimization run better, and to analyze them.

Integration

·        You can call the explanation log from the list of optimization runs, in transaction /SAPAPO/OPT11, by placing the cursor on the row of the optimization run in question and choosing the Explanation Log button.

·        If you have started the optimization run from the detailed scheduling planning board, the system creates a log for the optimization run. The icon This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Details is displayed in the Details column. Clicking on the this icon takes you to the explanation log.

Prerequisites

·        In order for the system to be able to create an explanation log after the optimization run, you must set the indicator Explain Result, on the Expert Settings tab page of the optimization profile.

·        To display the rescheduled activities and the solutions that have been found in the explanation log, you must set the indicators Log Result and Log Interim Solutions in the optimization profile. The system then displays the corresponding tab page in the explanation log.

Features

On the individual tab pages, the following information is displayed:

·        Delays

On this tab page, the system displays the orders that are delayed in relation to their requirements dates/times. The system also displays the order's delay in days, hours, minutes, and seconds.

By double-clicking on an order, you can see the reasons for the delay. The system displays all the relevant orders in the lower section of the screen. For each order, the system displays the reason for and the duration of the delay. In addition, depending on the cause, the system displays the missing component quantity or the resource that caused the delay.

Example

The pegged order is, for example, a purchase requisition. Due to a longer planned delivery time, the component can no longer be procured on time. The component quantity is then displayed as the pegged quantity that will be delivered late.

You can also display the missing components or pegged resources on the tab pages Delay: Resources and Delay: Products.

·        Fixings

On this tab page, the system displays the fixed activities. The reasons for fixing are also displayed.

·        Deallocations

On this tab page, the system displays the activities that were deallocated during the optimization run. The reasons for the deallocation of the activities are also displayed.

·        Reschedulings

On this tab page, the system displays the activities that were rescheduled during the optimization run.

·        Solutions

On this tab page, the system displays technical information about the quality of the solution that has been found, such as how long it took the system to find the solution, the makespan, and the total setup time.
