Directly Dependent Business Function Requiring Activation in Addition | SAP Patient Management ( |
This business function enables you to use the SAP Business Partner (SAP BP) and SAP Organizational Management (SAP OM) in SAP Patient Management
(IS-H) and thus provides enhanced options for integrating the system with other SAP components. The business function is also prerequisite to the use of enhanced functions in SAP Patient Management
.
Example
Connection to SAP Customer Relationship Management
(SAP CRM) for patient-related sales processes (business function SAP CRM and Patient Management Integration
(ISH_CRMPM
), available as of IS-H 606
)
Use of SAP Information Lifecycle Management
(SAP ILM) for patient data (business function SAP Patient Management: ILM Enhancements
(ISH_ILM
), available as of IS-H 617
)
If you decide to use this business function subsequently, you will need to migrate patient and other data. For this reason, we recommend that customers who are using SAP Patient Management
for the first time activate the business function straight away.
Many SAP components use SAP BP and SAP OM for their master data. If you activate this business function, SAP Patient Management
can use these SAP components both for business partner and patient data and for organizational units. This significantly signified process integration with other SAP components.
Example
This means you can also create the function for an internal physician or patient for an employee from SAP Human Capital Management
(SAP HCM) using the corresponding transactions in SAP Patient Management
, provided the SAP HCM employee is synchronized with the SAP BP.
Caution
Please note that in SAP Patient Management
business partner data for patients and, for example, next of kin is regarded as particularly sensitive. This may mean that it is necessary to separate this data and to record one natural person several times in the system according to the functions they occupy. For example, you cannot simply create an SAP HCM employee based on a patient in SAP Patient Management
.
You have installed the following components as of the version mentioned:
Type of Component | Component | Is Needed Only for the Following Features |
|---|---|---|
| IS-H | IS-H 604 | – |
| XI Content | As of XI component version 7.0, name range: http://sap.com/xi/HL7/V3/IS-CHN/100 | – |
Before you can use this business function, you must also activate the business function SAP Patient Management
(ISH_MAIN
).
Existing customers must migrate their datasets for business partners, patients, and the organizational and hospital structures before they can use the SAP Business Partner and SAP Organizational Management. This is only possible for both areas - it is not possible, for example, to combine the existing patient concept with the new SAP Organizational Management functions. For more information about migration, see Customizing under .
Additional standard functions are active if you activate and use this business function. This leads to increased resource requirements.
When you activate this business function, the SAP BP and SAP OM user interfaces are also available in SAP Patient Management
for maintaining organizational units and business partners +. This means users require less time to familiarize themselves with this kind of task. On the other hand, you still use the standard transactions in SAP Patient Management
to edit patient data. These user interfaces remain practically unaffected by the switch to the SAP BP, which means that existing customers can continue with these core tasks without disruption.
Please note that SAP Patient Management
only makes use of the features of SAP BP and SAP OM that correspond to the existing solutions for the individual areas in SAP Patient Management
. You cannot use additional functions, such as time-dependent address components in the SAP BP, in SAP Patient Management
.
