Process documentation Prerequisites in ERP for Consumption of Configured Products  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Purpose

This topic describes the settings that you have to make in the ERP system in order to consume the forecast (planned independent requirements) of configured products in SAP APO by sales orders that are created in the ERP system.

Prerequisites

You have created classes and characteristics in the ERP system (see Creation of Characteristics and Classes in the ERP System).

You have created configurable materials in the ERP system.

Process

...

       1.      In addition to the normal settings you must ensure that when you create a sales order for a material in the ERP system the requirements are transferred. You should choose a planning strategy (Strategy Group on the MRP 3 tab page in the standard system) that does the following:

       Transfers requirements

       Plans for single items

       Plans without final assembly

       Stipulates that configuration is mandatory

Specifies that consumption of planned independent requirements is for characteristic values and not variants

These prerequisites are fulfilled in the standard ERP system by the planning strategy 56. For more information about planning strategy 56, see SAP Library for SAP ERP central Component in the Demand Management (PP-MP-DEM) component on SAP Help Portal at http://help.sap.com.

Note

You make the settings in Customizing for the ERP system for the requirements class. The requirements class is assigned to the planning strategy.

       2.      Include the following in the integration model:

       The materials

       Plant

       ATP check for the materials

       Sales orders for the materials

       The relevant classes and characteristics
For more information about the integration of CDP characteristics and classes, see also
Integration of Classes and Characteristics.

       3.      Activate the integration model.
