Executing the Production Planning Run in the Background
Use
If you want to plan a large number of objects, you execute the production planning run as a background job. You can start the job immediately or specify that the system should execute the job at a later time so that the system performance is not reduced (for example, during the night). You control the production planning run using variants that contain all the settings for the production planning run.
Prerequisites
See
Production Planning RunProcedure
The Background Planning: Variants screen appears. The variants already created are displayed.
If necessary, you can change the variants or create a new variant.
Result
The system executes the production planning run either immediately or at the specified time. To check the status of the job, choose System → Own jobs.
