Settings for the MRP Process 

Prerequisites

You have transferred the ATP Customizing from SAP R/3 to SAP APO.

Settings in the ATP Customizing in SAP APO

Maintain Check Mode

During the Customizing transfer the system created a check mode in SAP APO for the SAP R/3 demand class of the planning strategy. In the Production Type field of the Check Mode you choose the setting Characteristic Evaluation.

Maintain Check Instructions

You add the check instruction for the business events A and AE:

You add the settings of the check control for the ATP group that you have transferred from SAP R/3 and the business events A and AE:

Settings in the PP/DS Customizing

Maintain Planning Procedure

You create a new PP planning procedure by copying the PP planning procedure 4 Planning in Planning Run and making the following settings:

·        You enter the class /SAPAPO/CL_RRP_FIX_ONLY in the field ABAP Class for the CTP Scenario of the planning procedure that you just created.

If you use this ABAP class, the system only carries out the availability check against fixed pegging. If there are no fixed pegging relationships, the system cannot confirm the requirements.

·        The indicator Confirmed Quantity is Relevant for Pegging must not be set.

 

Settings in the Product Master of the Finished Product

       1.      In the product master, check that the check mode for which you defined the production type Characteristic Evaluation has been transferred from SAP R/3.

       2.      Enter the PP planning procedure in the product master.

 

Settings in the Product Master of the Components

If you want to carry out an ATP check for planned/production orders in SAP APO and consider fixed pegging for the components as well, you must enter the PP procedure mentioned above and the ABAP class /SAPAPO/CL_RRP_FIX_ONLY in the product master of these components. In addition, you need to enter the check mode that you are using for the finished product for the components as well.

Unlike in availability checks for planned and production orders, temporary quantity assignments are not visible in ATP checks in SAP APO. Since the system only carries out availability on the basis of fixed pegging when the ABAP class /SAPAPO/CL_RRP_FIX_ONLY is used, temporary quantity assignments are irrelevant.
