Calculation of the Actual Pegging
Quantity
When you create a fixed pegging relationship manually, you specify a fixed pegging quantity. The fixed pegging quantity is the (partial) quantity of a stock or receipt element that you want to assign to a requirements element. The system automatically calculates the quantity that is actually transferred from the receipt to the requirement. It may differ from the fixed pegging quantity you have specified.

For pegging relationships that are fixed automatically by the system, there is no difference between the fixed and the actual pegging quantity; the system adjusts the quantities automatically.
There may be variances between the desired fixed pegging quantity and the actual transferred quantity in the following cases:
· The receipt quantity or the requirements quantity changes after you have created the fixed pegging relationship with a specific pegging quantity.

You have created a fixed pegging relationship between a receipt element with a receipt quantity of 20 pieces and a requirements element with a requirements quantity of 20 pieces. You have specified 20 pieces as the fixed pegging quantity; you therefore assign the complete receipt quantity to the requirement. Then the receipt quantity is reduced to 15 pieces (for example, because a total of just 15 pieces can probably be confirmed due to an unpredictably large quantity of scrap). The actual pegging quantity is therefore 15 pieces.
· You have specified a fixed pegging quantity which is greater than the quantity delivered by the receipt element.

You have created a fixed pegging relationship between a receipt element with a receipt quantity of 15 pieces and a requirements element with a requirements quantity of 20 pieces. You have specified 20 pieces as the fixed pegging quantity. Since the receipt element only delivers 15 pieces, the actual pegging quantity is 15 pieces. If 19 pieces are confirmed for the receipt element due to an unpredictably small amount of scrap, the actual pegging quantity is 19 pieces.
The system displays the actual transferred quantities in the pegging overview or in the context of an order, for example.
