Quantity of a material that has been withdrawn from storage at the issuing plant on the basis of a stock transport order, but has not yet arrived at the receiving plant.
Stock in transit is included in the valuated stock of the receiving plant, but is not "unrestricted-use" stock. Stock in transit may also be referred to as "intransit inventory."
