Release Manufacturing Order in SAP
R/3
The release process transfers the manufacturing order from planning to production. From this point onwards components can be withdrawn and confirmations created. An ATP check is often linked to the release in order to ensure the availability of the components.
You can only release manufacturing orders in SAP R/3, not in SAP APO. The release can be carried out for the entire manufacturing order or for individual operations or phases of the manufacturing order.
Effects of Release
SAP R/3 |
SAP APO |
You release the manufacturing order, in other words, it is assigned the status released. |
The status change is automatically transferred to SAP APO. |
You release individual operations or phases of a manufacturing order, in other words, the operations or phases are assigned the status release and the order is assigned the status partially released. Not until the final operation has been released is the manufacturing order assigned the status released. Components at the released operations are also assigned the status released. |
The change to the status of an operation or phase is transferred to SAP APO. In SAP APO the status partially released does not exist. The entire manufacturing order is assigned the status released as soon as the first operation of the manufacturing order has been released. |
