Choose Start of the navigation path Accounting Next navigation step Controlling Next navigation step Product Cost Controlling Next navigation step Cost Object Controlling Next navigation step Product Cost by Period Next navigation step Information System Next navigation step Reports for Product Cost by Period Next navigation step Object List Next navigation step Overview of Cost Object Hierarchies End of the navigation path .

The screen Display Cost Object Hierarchy: Selection appears.

You can now:

  • Display the structure of a particular cost object hierarchy by entering the key of a cost object node (in large cost object hierarchies it is best not to enter the highest cost object node)

  • Display a list of all cost object nodes (not just the highest cost object node)

  • Display the cost object hierarchy for a particular material (or material/production process) You access a hierarchical display directly.

In the list displays, the highest node of the cost object hierarchies is indicated as such. To go from the list display to the hierarchical display for the relevant cost object hierarchy, choose a cost object node by double-clicking.

To go directly into the hierarchical display, enter the relevant cost object or material (or material and production process) and choose Execute .

To first access the list display, choose Choose from list of cost objects at highest level or Choose from list of all cost objects .

Then double-click to access the hierarchy display of the relevant hierarchy. Both the list display and the hierarchy display use the functions of the ABAP List Viewer. If the cost object hierarchy is displayed as a hierarchy, you should be in the screen Display Cost Object Hierarchy .

Displaying the Values for a Cost Object Hierarchy

Starting from the screen Display Cost Object Hierarchy , you can access different key figures by changing the layout .

Other Settings

From the screen Display Cost Object Hierarchy , you can make further settings as follows:

  • To switch between the data entry object and the summarization object, choose Start of the navigation path Settings Next navigation step Report Object Type Next navigation step Summarization Object End of the navigation path or Data Entry Object .

For the data entry object , the system displays the data assigned directly to the cost object node.

Note that debits and credits from the distribution are not shown in the hierarchy display. This means that there will still be values on the cost object node even after distribution.

For the summarization object , the system displays the data summarized by a data collection run.

  • To switch between the company code currency and the controlling area currency, choose Start of the navigation path Settings Next navigation step Object Currency/CO Area Currency. End of the navigation path

  • To see the target/actual values on the basis of another target cost version, choose Start of the navigation path Settings Next navigation step Select Target Cost Version. End of the navigation path

  • To have the system assign red, yellow, or green traffic light symbols to cost object nodes with certain values, define exceptions under Start of the navigation path Settings Next navigation step Exception Rule. End of the navigation path

  • To change the reporting time frame, choose Start of the navigation path Settings Next navigation step Choose Time Frame End of the navigation path .

Displaying a Cost Object Hierarchy as a List

  • To see all nodes of the cost object hierarchy, choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Expand All. End of the navigation path

Displaying Cost Reports for Cost Object Nodes

From the screen Display Cost Object Hierarchy , you can view the summarized costs for the cost object node as follows:

  1. Choose a cost object by double-clicking. You access the cost element report and can choose a layout in which the sum of the costs for the cost object node is displayed.

The data is displayed with the cost analysis function.
