 Year-End Closing

Use

The system performs year-end closing for an excise duty type, or for one or several tax warehouses. The period of the year-end closing can cover a calendar year. You can, however, also define a different fiscal year.

Prerequisites

To be able to perform year-end closing you must have performed all the month-end closings for the tax warehouse.

Activities

Choose the requested selection parameters to call the year-end closing.

Note the following conventions when choosing the final date of the closing period:

The default value in the field Final date of closing period is December 31 of the previous year.

If the Year of the closing period and the year in the Final date of closing period are identical, the date has to be December 31.

If the Year of the closing period and the year in the Final date of closing period differ by 1, the date cannot be December 31.

If the Year of the closing period and the year in the Final date of closing period differ by more than 1, the system issues an error message.

We recommend that you always set the Check whether function permis. flag.

When you call year-end closing, the system performs the following steps in the background:

a. The system checks the input fields and determines the tax warehouse for the year-end closing.

b. If you flag the Check whether function permis. checkbox, the system performs the following permissibility checks:

The system checks whether all month-end closings have been performed.

The system checks if rejected excise duty documents still exist for the period.

c. If one of the above conditions for the permissibility check is not met, the system issues an error message and terminates processing of the year-end closing.

d. If the above conditions for the permissibility check are met, the system enters the year in the excise duty year-end closing table, for every tax warehouse and issues a log.
