 Application

Definition

A candidate’s formal statement of interest in entering a work relationship or changing an existing work relationship. The candidate can submit an application for a specific job posting or as an unsolicited application. The candidate can submit an electronic or paper application.

Use

Candidates use the application to express their interest in a specific job or in working with a specific company. Through the application, they make contact with the relevant manager or company.

Managers or recruiters decide on the basis of the application whether a candidate is suitable for a job vacancy.

Structure

The structure of an application contains the following data:

Letter of application

Free text that the candidate submits together with his or her curriculum vitae. In the letter of application, the candidate can address the manager in person and explain why he or she is interested in the job.

Curriculum vitae

The curriculum vitae contains the information and documents stored by the candidate in his or her profile in the Talent Warehouse relating to his or her capabilities and wishes.

Status

The status of an application can have the following specifications:

  • Draft (The candidate has not yet finished or sent the application; changes can still be made.)

  • In process (The application was sent and is now being processed.)

  • Withdrawn (The candidate withdrew the application.)

  • Rejected (The recruiter or manager rejected the application.)

  • To be hired (The candidate is to be hired.)

Job Posting

An application is linked with a job posting. A candidate submits an application for a publication of a job posting.

Candidate

An application is linked with a candidate. Through the application and the candidacy, the candidate is linked with the requisition to which the job posting (for which the candidate is applying) belongs.

Candidacy

An application can be linked with one or more candidacies.
