 Goods Movements with Handling Units

Use

You can use this new function to post goods movements for handling units (HUs) without object reference by entering handling units directly. You can still post goods movements for handling units or materials by creating deliveries, as well.

Features

You can process goods movements postings for handling units without needing to know their exact content. You need only enter the handling unit number and the posting activity and the system can automatically determine the materials that the HU contains and post the goods movement that is suitable for the stock category of the HU items.

You can create transfer orders or deliveries as goods movement requests (for stock transfers to another storage location, for example) by entering handling units or materials.

A list of all deliveries that were created appears when the delivery note is created. You can use this list to go directly to the delivery in question and change data right in the delivery dialog. You can go to the display of the material document if the material document was created directly.

The system allows you to make in-process goods movement requests. The physical process in the warehouse is completed before stock is posted in the system, giving you more flexibility and security for bookkeeping purposes.

For hybrids (simultaneous posting of materials and handling units), you can use the Handling units tab to enter several handling units for one process. If you then choose the Material tab, the handling units you specified previously will be expanded and all the materials that the handling units contain appear on the screen. Then you can also enter other materials for this posting activity.

Note Note

If you want to process hybrids (handling units and additional materials) or exclusively materials, please note that you cannot generate a material document directly. In these cases, you must create deliveries so that you can carry out all subsequent processes such as picking or posting goods movements.

End of the note.
