FI Tax Invoice
A document that shows a value-added tax item and which is recognized by the tax authorities as evidence that a VAT transaction occurred. Tax invoices are thus used to substantiate VAT returns.
In the system, you can print tax invoices for customer invoice documents and customer down payments.
You can print either tax invoices issued by the company for itself or tax invoices issued by tax agents on behalf of a vendor.
For more information, see Tax Invoice Printing in Financial Accounting.
Every tax invoice bears a tax invoice number and a tax invoice date, where the invoice number is the accounting document number and the invoice date is the accounting document date.
The header also shows various information about the parties of the transaction, such as:
The full and short name of the seller company code
The names, addresses, and INN orKPP numbers of the buyer and seller
In case a tax agent prints the tax invoice on behalf of a foreign company, the fields for seller include the address data of the contractor.
The names and addresses of the consignor and ship-to party
The external payment document number and date relevant for down payments are also displayed in the header.
For each line item, the tax invoice shows the following information:
Description of the goods/services
Sales unit
Quantity
Price per unit
The net and gross amount
Tax rate and VAT amount
If you made the relevant customizing settings (see Customizing for Printing Tax Invoices in FI), the system prints a dash in the tax rate and VAT amount fields for tax-exempt transactions.
All amounts are printed in document currency.
Foreign trade data
For imported goods, the country of origin and the customs declaration number have to be printed on the tax invoice, as required by law. For goods that are not imported, a dash is displayed in the relevant fields.
The tax invoice shows the total amount to be paid as well.
The bottom line shows the names and signatures of the persons authorized to sign the document, such as the chief executive officer (CEO) and chief accountant.
