 Change Documents

Use

Changes that you make to the maintenance plans or maintenance items are logged in the system in change documents. The following data is included:

  • Which data was changed added or deleted?

The old and new contents of the field are logged in the change document.

  • How was the data changed? With which transaction was the change made?

  • Who made the change?

  • When was the data changed?

The creation of a maintenance plan or of a maintenance item is not documented. The logging of the changes begins with the very first change.

For example, the system documents when you add a new maintenance item to the maintenance plan, or when you change the short text or the scheduling parameter of the maintenance plan. The system even logs if you complete an order or a message that was generated through a maintenance plan, for example. This allows you to track who accessed the scheduling from a maintenance call object, and thus possibly influenced the subsequent deadlines (see Separate Completion of Maintenance Call Dates ).

Changes to the long text are not documented.

You can only display the change documents of a maintenance plan from the maintenance item if a maintenance item is assigned to a maintenance plan. After that the display of the change document is only possible via the maintenance plan itself.

Prerequisite

In Customizing for Plant Maintenance and Customer Service under Define Maintenance Plan Category, you have set the Write Document indicator.

Features

If you make changes to maintenance plans and maintenance items then the system writes change documents for the following objects:

  • Maintenance plan

  • Maintenance Item

  • Maintenance call objects (such as orders, messages)

  • History of the maintenance call
