This component enables you to analyze tax-relevant movements of goods that are subject to excise duties. It calculates the amount of the excise duty payments and, upon request, prints the results on forms for submission to the appropriate authorities.
Excise duties are duties that the state imposes as taxes on the use or consumption of certain goods. The liability to pay taxes is incurred when taxable goods are moved under customs seal from a location to a taxable location.
The state imposes excise duties, for example, on petroleum products, tobacco, alcohol and alcoholic beverages. This documentation deals with the processing of data relevant for alcohol duty with the SAP component Excise Duty (ED).
This component:
Is used in EU countries, but can also be used in countries outside the EU.
Is geared (in the standard system delivery) to meet the requirements of the beverages industry
Can be adapted to map excise duties in other (food) industries.
The standard version of the
Excise Duty

German spirits tax
German sparkling wine tax
You can activate the preconfigured tax types as necessary.
This component is fully integrated in SAP Materials Management.
This component provides the following functions:
Non tax-type-specific functions
You can use the tax-type-specific for all excise duty types, for example, document selection and month-end/year-end closing.
Non tax-type-specific functions
You can replace the tax-type-specific functions with non tax-type-specific functions. You use the tax-type-specific functions when tax-type-specific analyses cannot be performed by a non tax-type-specific function, or when the data has to be output on predefined tax forms.
