  Using the WWI Label Wizard

Prerequisites

Procedure

  1. Choose with the quick info text Create Label.

The Label Wizard dialog box appears.

  2. Enter the height and width of your label.

    Note Note

When you start the Windows Wordprocessor Integration (WWI) program, the dimension settings for the local Microsoft Word installation are read in and saved as the default values for the WWI unit of measurement.

If Microsoft Word has the measurement units picas or millimeters set as the dimension, the unit of measurement centimeters is displayed in WWI.

    End of the note.
  3. Confirm your entries.

WWI creates a label template with the specified format.

  4. To create a serial number as a symbol on the label, choose with the quick info text Enter Serial Number.

To define the serial number as the maximum possible serial number for the respective print run, set the Maximum indicator.

    Note Note

The serial numbers are contained in the IMG activity Check and Specify Report Symbols (table TCGA6) in the symbol group G00 (field: LSYID = EHS_SERN%).

    End of the note.

Result

  • You can define other text segments in the label template using Start of the navigation path Insert Next navigation step Text Box End of the navigation path .

Within a text segment you can use the functions of WWI, for example, the automatic Character Sizing .

You assign the released label template to a generation variant. You can restrict the usage of the generation variant by defining application objects. See Generation Variant and Defining Application Objects .

You generate labels that contain specification symbols as reports and release them in report management .

You open labels without a reference to a specification directly in the report information system .

  • If you created a label with the WWI Wizard and call the label from report management or the report information system , the SAP system loads the labeling tool. The labeling tool provides different standard sizes for display and printing purposes. In addition, you can define your own formats with the help of the labeling tool. (See Using the Labeling Tool .)

If you have not used the Label Wizard, Microsoft Word is opened directly.

    Note Note

Labels for which the labeling tool is loaded cannot be exported, sent, or printed out via the SAP spool.

In the report information system and report management, you call reports that were created with the Label Wizard using the icon . You call reports that were created without the Label Wizard using the icon .

    End of the note.
