Quantities and Units of Measure in Confirmation

For the purpose of quantity distribution, the confirmed quantity is converted to the production unit of measure from the original operations or to the unit of measure from the last of the original operations to be combined.

Confirmation for the combined order takes place in the production unit of measure or in the basis unit of measure for the combined order.

The default quantity for the original order X in the confirmation can be calculated as follows:

Definition of the Parameters in the Formula

Parameter

Definition (Unit of Measure)

ORX Default Qty

Default quantity for original order "X" (Production unit of measure from original order)

ORX Open Prodn Qty

Still open production quantity in original order "X".

ORI Open Prodn Qty

Still open production quantity in original order "I".

Confirmation quantity

Quantity to be confirmed for combined order

If necessary, the units of measure are converted as appropriate.

The unit of measure for the items (production unit of measure or the operation unit of measure for the last original order operation to be combined) is used for the allocation. If orders with different units of measure are combined, the system does not verify with quantity distribution put back that the quantity allocated matches the confirmed quantity of the order being combined. The total of the confirmed quantities for the original orders may vary from the confirmed quantity in the combined order.

You maintain quantity distribution for the original orders when the last operation or phase requiring confirmation is confirmed in Customizing of Shop Floor Control at Operations Confirmation Maintain Confirmation Parameters in the Combination or in Customizing of Production Planning for Process Industries at Process Order Operations Confirmation Maintain Confirmation Parameters in the Combination.

For production orders, you can specify whether you enter quantity distribution for the original orders first (quantity distribution brought forward) or the total quantity first (quantity distribution put back). Quantity distribution is always put back for production orders.

Quantity Distribution Brought Forward

When the last operation requiring confirmation of the combined order is confirmed, the original orders are confirmed as well (not with sub-operations). If Quantity Distribution Brought Forward is set in Customizing, the system first calls up quantity distribution and proposes the corresponding plan quantities in the production unit of measure for the original orders. If you have already confirmed a quantity greater than or equal to the plan quantity, no default values are determined by the system. The total of the confirmed quantities is calculated and copied to the confirmation screen in the base unit of measure. You can change the original quantities at any time by choosing Quantity distribution.

In Customizing, you can specify whether the total quantity can be changed or just displayed on the standard confirmation screen. You can then only change the confirmation quantity via the original quantities. When you save your data, the original quantities total is checked against the total quantity to be confirmed in the base unit of measure.

Quantity Distribution Put Back

The system first calls up the standard confirmation screen. The total quantity to be confirmed for the combined order is displayed. You can call up the quantity distribution function for production orders using the Quantity distribution pushbutton or by choosing the appropriate menu path. The total quantity is automatically set to changeable in Customizing. When you save your data, the system checks that the quantities are consistent.

A process control system is normally used for process orders. This is called up after you have saved your data in the quantity distribution confirmation.

You can carry out quantity distribution automatically. In Customizing, you must select Do not Display Quantity Distribution Screen . The confirmed quantity is then distributed in proportion to the plan quantities of the original orders. The quantity distribution screen is not displayed, and the Quantity distribution button in the application toolbar is hidden. If an error occurs, however, the quantity distribution screen is displayed. You can change the distribution ratio in the customer exit MILLOC01 (function module: EXIT_SAP_MILL_OC_002), for example, if you are using a process control system.
