 Displaying and Changing Documents

Users who are not SAP-literate can use this BSP application to display and change documents that are maintained in document management (SAP application component CA-DMS).

Features

Choose the link Display/Change from the WebDocuments homepage.

Entering the Document Key

You enter the data for the document key. Listed under the possible entries for the Document Type are the document types that can be used for processing in the Web interface. You make these settings in the Customizing for Document Management , under Set WebDocuments (BSP).

The following overview details the processing options that can be used depending on the chosen function ( Display or Change ).

Display

The selected document data is presented in the form of a data sheet.

  • If a thumbnail exists for a graphical original application file, then this is displayed on the data sheet.

  • The integrated viewer allows the display of original application files in all file formats.

  • You can also display Additional Information , for example, the status log, the list of versions, or the document hierarchy.

Change

Selected document data is presented in the form of a data sheet. You can change the following document data in the Web interface:

  • Document Data

  • Additional Data

    This data section contains all enterprise-specific additional data, which you maintain on the Additional Data tab page in the document info record.

  • Originals

    You can create, change, or delete original application files.

  • Description

    You can enter a descriptive short text for the chosen language.

  • Additional Functions allow you to integrate documents into additional editing processes, such as document distribution, or flagging for deletion.

Integration

Within the framework of WebDocuments you can display or change documents in the following way:

  • A Stack of the previous ten documents that you have edited

  • A results screen from the Search Function

  • By calling the Display/Change function directly from the WebDocuments homepage

Optional Settings

You choose the Additional Information and the Functions for processing in Customizing for Document Management under Set WebDocuments (BSP), substep Select Functions.
