Use

This iView is the second processing step for the Organizational Charting Interface (OCI). In integration scenario 3 (Online data extraction via the SAP system), it extracts the organizational data from the SAP back-end system. It then accesses the Organizational Chart Tester iView, or the third-party vendor's organizational charting application.

This iView is usually processed in the background. For test purposes you can also make the iView visible. In this case, in this iView, users see the parameters that define the organizational charts to be displayed. They also see the data that is transferred to the third-party vendor's organizational charting application, or the Organizational Chart Tester iView. When users select Submit , the system sends the data and launches the third-party application.

Note Note

This iView is not intended to be a standalone application.

End of the note.

Integration

You access this iView using a link from the Organizational Chart Link

  • iView.

Alternatively, you can use other Object and Data Provider (OADP)-based applications (for example, the Employee Search iView from the Business Package for Manager Self-Service (mySAP ERP) ) to launch a context-sensitive organizational chart, using links in the OADP-based table of such iViews. In this case, the OADP link accesses the Organizational Chart Launcher iView directly.

  • This iView processes the parameters it receives from the Organizational Chart Link iView or another OADP-based application.

From this iView, the Organizational Chart Tester iView, or a third-party vendor's organizational charting application appears

  • Integration Scenario

For more information about the integration scenarios that you define with this property, see Organizational Charting Interface (OCI) in the "Features" section.

  • Display Interface Data

Determines whether this iView is visible for users.

    • Value ON

The OC Interface data is displayed by this iView for the user before it is transferred to the Organizational Chart Tester iView, or the third-party vendor's organizational charting application.

      Note Note

The value ON is only to be used in test environments. This setting is specifically designed for the certification process.

      End of the note.
    • Value OFF (default setting)

This iView is processed in the background and is not visible for users. In this case, the Organizational Chart Tester iView, or the third-party vendor's organizational charting application is accessed directly when users select a link in the Organizational Chart Link iView, or another corresponding OADP-based application.

  • Navigation Target

Specifies where the portal page or iView that includes the Organizational Chart Tester application, or a third-party vendor's organizational charting application, is stored in the PCD. You use this setting to determine whether the Organizational Chart Launcher iView calls the Organizational Chart Tester iView, or the third-party vendor's application.

  • Default Organizational View, Default Query Scenario, Default Object Type, Default Object ID

You use these properties to define default values for this iView that are only used if the calling application (the Organizational Chart Link iView, or another OADP-based application) does not transfer values for these properties.

    Example Example

You determine, for example, the object type O (Organizational Unit) in the Organizational Chart Link iView. In the Organizational Chart Launcher iView, enter the value US (User) as the default object type. In this case, the value O is used.

If, however, you do not determine a value for the object type in the Organizational Chart Link iView and specify the value US for the default object type in the Organizational Chart Launcher iView, the value US is used.

    End of the example.
  • Vendor Application System Alias

Specifies the system alias that is stored in the portal for the third-party vendor's organizational charting application. This property is used to determine the assigned user and password.
