 Editing Inspection Operations

Use

You use inspection operations to describe individual inspection steps in an inspection plan and to define the work center and the default values for an inspection.

Prerequisites

  • The header data for the inspection plan is already defined in the system.

  • The master records used (for example, material master record, dynamic modification rule) must have been created and released in the system.

  • The unit of measure defined in the header of a reference operation set that is to be referenced is the same as the unit of measure in the existing inspection plan.

Procedure

  1. Call up the operation overview screen from the create or change transaction for the inspection plan .

  2. Create the required operations. You can link to reference operation sets to simplify data entry.

  3. Enter the following data in the operation overview:

Operation

You enter the operation number. You can overwrite the proposed value.

Control key

The control key defines the business relevance of the operation. Make sure that the Inspection characteristics indicator is set in Customizing .

Work center

You define the place where the inspection is to take place or the person responsible for carrying out the inspection.

Standard text key

The standard text key provides a default for the description of an operation. This key simplifies data entry.

Description

You enter a short description of the operation.

Base quantity

You define the base quantity for the material to be manufactured. The default values for the operation relate to this quantity. You can overwrite the proposed value.

Unit of meas. for op

You define the unit for the material to be manufactured. You can overwrite the proposed value.

  1. Choose Operation and on the operation detail screen, enter data as required:

Work center/Plant

You define the place where the inspection is to take place or the person responsible for carrying out the inspection. You can overwrite the proposed entry for the plant.

Required qualification, Qualifications

You define the qualification that must be held by the inspection personnel.

Recording view

You enter the recording view that is to appear when you confirm inspection results.

Insp.pointCompletion

You enter the reference and the type of valuation for the inspection point. If you have defined inspection points in the task list header, this is a required entry. You can overwrite the proposed entry.

Field key

You enter the default key words (field names) for the user fields.

  1. To edit a long text for the operation, choose Long text .

Once you have edited the long text, choose Continue to return to the operation overview.

  1. To check if the inspection plan is consistent , choose Check .

  2. Save the data.

Note Note

The authorization for entering data at operation level is controlled by the authorization object for the characteristics contained in the task list.
