Use

If a material is subject to excise duty, there is excise duty-specific master data available in the Excise Duty component. This additional excise duty data enhances the master data stored in the SAP system.

You must maintain the following excise duty-specific master data for the Excise Duty component:

Material master

Material master maintenance is an integral part of the standard SAP system. If you want to update material movements in the Excise Duty component, you must maintain the following excise duty-specific material master data for the material master:

Client-related additional data

You can also maintain the following additional data:

Company code-related additional data

Plant-related additional data

Make the necessary settings under Material Master Basic Data 1 Excise Duty

There is a pushbutton on the screen for each organizational level in excise duty (client, company code, and plant). If you use a tax type at client level that is also intended for company code and plant level, the system releases the pushbutton for the company code and plant accordingly. If there is data at an organizational level, the system displays a paper clip icon in the corresponding pushbutton.

In the initial screens for excise duty master data maintenance, you can limit the number of data records that you want the system to temporarily lock for processing. The other users can only display these records.
