You use this function to display stocks and objects (such as orders) with particular characteristics.
The system uses the class type, class, and characteristic value assignments to search for stocks or objects with the required properties (the system determines the possible characteristics from the class or from the selection profile). You can enter this data manually each time, or store it in a selection profile. For further information on the selection profile, see Creating Selection Profiles .
If you do not enter any value assignments for the selected characteristics, the system performs a generic search.
Caution
A generic search may have an adverse effect on your system performance.
With this function, you can display stocks with certain properties for materials and batches.
Note
The system can only make a selection based on characteristics within a class type. If, for example, you enter a class of class type 001 as a selection criterion, the system only searches for stocks of material with this class.
In the
Scope of selection
area, you define which additional data the system displays in the stock overview:
Special stocks
Open stocks
Characteristic value assignments
Short texts
Original batches
If you select the
Characteristic value assignments
indicator, the system displays the value assignments for the selected characteristics in the stock overview. You select these characteristics by choosing the
Characteristics for list
pushbutton. If you did not select any characteristics here, at the start of the search the system displays a dialog box in which you can select the characteristics.
You can only select characteristics that exist in the selected class or in the selected selection profile.
Example
You start an object search for batches with an active ingredient content of 30-40%. In the stock overview, you want the system to display the viscosity and the shelf life. To achieve this, the three characteristics ‘Active ingredient content’, 'Viscosity’ and 'Shelf life’ must be selection characteristics. However, you only enter a characteristic value assignment for the selection characteristic ‘Active ingredient content.’ You use the
Characteristics for list
pushbutton to select the two characteristics ‘Viscosity’ and ‘Shelf life’ from the selection characteristics.
As a result, the stock overview displays the stocks for the material and batch, as well as the required additional data. The stocks are displayed in a hierarchy by material, plant, storage location and batch, and are totaled up from the bottom up, starting at batch level. As a result, at storage location level for example, the system displays the sum of the batches it determined, not the total stock of the storage location.
In the stock overview, you can choose to go to the stock/requirements list, and to go to the master data of a material.
With this function, you can perform an object search based on the characteristics of the classification and configuration. The system takes account of the following objects in this search:
Sales order
Production order
Combined order
Purchase order
Purchase requisition
Reservation
Material variant at material level
Material variant at plant level
Material
Batch
At the start of the object search, you can define in a dialog box which specific objects the system is to search for.
As a result of the object search, the system provides you with a list of objects with a configuration or classification that matches the characteristic value assignments you specified. From this list, you can double click to go to the object (for example to the material master record of a material variant).
If you changed the result list to meet your requirements, for example, if you added fields by choosing
Current display variant
, you can store this as a display variant by choosing
Save
.
You can use the customer exit MILLCL01 to manipulate the result list of the stock overview and object search. You can add fields and change field contents.
You can use the business add-in MILL_CLMMBE_ADDIN1 to generate up to three pushbuttons in the result list and assign any functions you like to these.
Enter the required selection criteria or an appropriate selection profile.
Select the
Stock overview
or
Object search
indicator, depending on which function you want the system to perform.
