As an alternative to including hotels in travel planning by means of a global reservation system (GDS), you can also use hotel reservation systems for this purpose. The
Travel Planning
component in SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure (XI) now provides a generic interface for hotel reservation systems.
Travel Planning
shows available hotels either from a global reservation system or from a hotel reservation system, the latter of which is connected through XI. (However, the available hotels from both sources are
not
shown at the same time.)
To be able to connect
Travel Planning
to a hotel reservation system, you need to have set up a scenario for hotel reservation systems in the XI Integration Server.
You make the following settings in Customizing for Travel Planning:
You define the hotel reservation system based on the hotel reservation system connected in the XI Integration Server.
To do this, you go to Customizing for Travel Planning and choose
.You assign the hotel reservation system connected in XI to the groupings for access to external reservation systems.
