In SAP E-Recruiting, you use activities to perform the processes required for
Succession Planning
and
Talent Relationship Management
(TRM). In addition, you use activities to trigger all correspondence in
SAP E-Recruiting
.
Activities have a status. They can have the status
Planned
or
Completed
. Activities are always assigned to specific
E-Recruiting
objects:
Activities for the
Candidate
are assigned to object type NA.
Activities for the
Candidacy
are assigned to object type NE.
The following graphic shows the connections between the activities in Customizing:
Customizing of Activities
Before you can use activities, you must make the following Customizing settings in the
Implementation Guide
(IMG) for
SAP E-Recruiting
.
You create the activity types you want to use and you assign an activity category to each activity type. The activity categories determine how the system behaves for each activity type.
For more information about creating activities, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for

You assign the activity types that are to be created and performed using the workflow to the workflows that can be triggered in
SAP E-Recruiting
by different events. The standard system contains predefined workflows to which activity types are assigned within the framework of Recruitment. No workflow activities are stored here in Succession Planning.

under

.
You create processes and then assign activity types to them. By entering a process group, you determine for each process whether it is to be used in
Succession Planning
or in
Talent Relationship Management
(TRM).

uses activities in Succession Planning.
Use of Activities in Succession Planning
For more information about using activities in the
SAP E-Recruiting
workflow, see the documentation for the subarea of
Recruitment
under
Workflow (Recruitment)
in the description of the relevant workflow. In the standard system, the system does not perform any workflow activities in Succession Planning.
In Talent Relationship Management, you can assign candidates activities that are stored in the processes of the
Talent Relationship Management
process group.
You can create your own process templates. To do this, you assign processes to the process template, select the required activity types from these processes, and determine the sequence of the activity types. Process templates created in this way represent a standardized succession planning process for one or more succession plans.
You assign the process templates to succession plans. You can assign the same process template to multiple succession plans.
You assign candidates who are potentially suitable as successors for a key position or job to the relevant succession plan. In the Succession Planning process, you create activities from the process template of the succession plan for the assignments.
