 Settings for Printing Shop Papers

Purpose

This process describes what settings you must make in order to be able to print shop papers for notifications and orders. Shop papers are created using SAPscript forms. In the standard there are standard forms, whose layout you can adjust to meet your requirements.

You must make all your settings in Customizing:

  • For shop papers in plant maintenance and in customer service you can select the object-neutral access under Start of the navigation path Plant Maintenance and Customer Service Next navigation step Maintenance and Service Processing Next navigation step Basic Settings Next navigation step Print Control End of the navigation path For notifications enter the application area N ( notifications) , for orders enter the application area O ( orders ).

  • For shop papers in Quality Management, select Start of the navigation path Quality Management Next navigation step Quality Notifications Next navigation step Notification Processing Next navigation step Print Control. End of the navigation path

Prerequisites

You have installed a printer in the SAP system. You can find further information under Defining Devices for Frontend Printing .

Process Flow

  1. Define the shop papers and their layout.

To do this, select Start of the navigation path Print Control Next navigation step Define Shop Papers, Forms, Print Programs Next navigation step Define Shop Papers. End of the navigation path

In the standard, the name in the field of the output program, that determines the underlying print program, is RIPRxxxx for plant maintenance and customer service, RQQMxxxx for quality management. You can find further information on print programs under print programs and forms .

In the archive-object ID field, specify one of the following document types:

  1. Determine which shop papers should be proposed for selection at printing.

To do this, select Start of the navigation path Print Control Next navigation step Define Shop Papers, Forms, Print Programs Next navigation step Assign Permitted Shop Papers. End of the navigation path

  1. Define the user-specific print defaults.

Define the shop papers to be printed depending on the user and specify how a shop paper should be output:

  • On a printer

The shop paper will be printed on the printer that is defined by the administrators.

  • As a fax

Enter the country code and the fax number for this.

  • In the optical memory ArchiveLink

In this case the shop paper is archived optically.

For this select Start of the navigation path Print Control Next navigation step Define Printer Next navigation step Set User-Specific Print Defaults. End of the navigation path These settings are default values and can be changed during printing.

  1. Activate print diversion for notifications and orders.

Using the print diversion, define special printers and print parameters for individual shop papers depending on certain field contents.

Select Start of the navigation path Print Control Next navigation step Define Printer Next navigation step Define Print Diversion End of the navigation path and in a further step Print Diversion According to Field Contents.

  1. Activate the delta print for orders.

This means that only the operations or components, that do not yet have the status printed, are printed.

To do this, select Start of the navigation path Define Shop Papers, Forms, Print Programs Next navigation step Define Shop Papers. End of the navigation path Enter O for orders as the application area.

  1. Activate print online, if necessary for test purposes.

For this select Start of the navigation path Print Control Next navigation step Activate Printing in Online Processing. End of the navigation path

If you activate online processing, all the shop papers from the dialog program and not from the update program are printed. The settings that you make apply to all the clients.

You should use online printing only for test purposes, for example, for in-house development of print programs.
