 Defining Infotype Characteristics

Use

Infotype characteristics contain information about the time constraint (time constraint table), subtype (subtype table), display and selection (such as reaction indicators for entering dates on the menu selection screen, date proposal for the start date on the selection screen, and so on), information about the retroactive accounting trigger for payroll infotypes, information about the single screen and list screen, and so on. You must define these infotype characteristics after you create an infotype.

Procedure

  1. If you want to maintain the characteristics of an infotype, proceed as follows:

    • After you have created a new infotype, you automatically go to the maintenance view for infotype characteristics.

    • If you want to go back and edit the characteristics of an infotype, choose Infotype Characteristics .

The Display Infotype Characteristics (Customizing): Overview screen appears.

  2. Switch to change mode ( Start of the navigation path Display Next navigation step Change). End of the navigation path

  3. There are two ways to create an entry:

    • You can create an entirely new entry by choosing New entries .

    • You can copy an infotype entry with similar characteristics.

To do so, select the infotype whose characteristics you want to copy, and choose Copy as…

  4. Make your entries in the required fields or check the entries you copied and make any necessary changes.

  5. Save your entries.

Result
