Visit Planning (Direct Store Delivery) You can use the visit planning functions in the
Direct Store Delivery Backend
(DSD) in Media Product Sales and Distribution (single copy sales of newspapers and magazines). The visit planning functions allow you to create visit lists and control transportation planning.
For example, you can plan the customers to be visited, as well as the delivery driver and vehicles, if applicable, in a visit plan. If necessary, you can also specify that a van seller can also deliver goods. A customer can be assigned to several visit plans.
The application

Since data for driver-related functions and for vehicle space optimization is not integrated with the SAP Business Partner (
Retailer
role), you must record this data for the corresponding customer.
Visit control must be set up in the SAP Implementation Guide under The settings here include specifying the appointments for visit control in different calendars – for example, calendars of daily appointments for newspapers and calendars of weekly appointments for magazines.

The following steps are relevant if you want to use the DSD visit planning functions in Single Copy Sales:
Edit the visit plans (create, change)
Edit the visit lists (generate, postedit, compare, delete)
Note
To access the visit planning functions, choose the following menu paths:Standard menu: Single copy sales menu:
Order generation in single copy sales
In order generation, the system enters the planned visit appointments as delivery appointments for the order items.
Caution
If the planned visit date is outside the period between the publication date and the latest delivery date for a media issue, the system does not create an order item for the media issue.
