 Visit Planning (Direct Store Delivery)

Purpose

You can use the visit planning functions in the Direct Store Delivery Backend (DSD) in Media Product Sales and Distribution (single copy sales of newspapers and magazines). The visit planning functions allow you to create visit lists and control transportation planning.

For example, you can plan the customers to be visited, as well as the delivery driver and vehicles, if applicable, in a visit plan. If necessary, you can also specify that a van seller can also deliver goods. A customer can be assigned to several visit plans.

Prerequisites

  • The application SCM Extension must be activated in the Customizing table of Activation Switches for the SAP ECC Extension Set .

  • The DSD backend process must be configured and activated. This includes the following steps:

  • Visit control must be set up in the SAP Implementation Guide under Start of the navigation path Logistics Execution Next navigation step Direct Store Delivery Backend. End of the navigation path The settings here include specifying the appointments for visit control in different calendars – for example, calendars of daily appointments for newspapers and calendars of weekly appointments for magazines.
