You use this function to create and change CPE formulas. Additionally, you can display detailed results of the formula evaluation, trigger a new assembly or evaluation of a CPE formula, or navigate to the detailed results of the formula assembly or evaluation (formula analysis).
You need this function if you use commodity pricing in sales documents, purchasing documents, or in the trading contract, as well as for displaying or changing details of the formula processing.
You can call the
Formula Maintenance
view from the following price-relevant documents. For more information, see
Integration of Commodity Pricing in Price-Relevant Documents
.
The prerequisites of Integration of Commodity Pricing in Price-Relevant Documents apply.
The toolbar provides you with the following functions of commodity pricing:
New Assembly
recalls formula assembly
Evaluation
calls formula evaluation
Show Analysis
calls formula evaluation and displays the detailed results
Display Error Log
The detailed area consists of two levels.
On the first level, you can create and change formula or cross term data:
General Settings
: Detailed settings and results of the formula calculation
Quantity Conversion
: Detailed settings and results of quantity conversion at formula level
Grouping of Terms: Shows how the different terms are weighted in the formula evaluation
Term Input: Shows how the term results are calculated
Term Result: Result details of the term calculation
Formula Rounding: Configuration for rounding at formula level
Formula Conversion Input: Configuration for conversion at formula level
Formula Conversion Result: Results of the conversion at formula level
When you choose one of the tab pages, except
Grouping of Terms
, a further level of detail is available.
On the Term Input tab page, you can create and change term-specific input data:
Calculation Rule
Surcharge Rule
Period Determ. Quotation
Period Determ. Currency
Customer-Specific Input Fields
Term Rounding
Term Conversion Input
On the
Term Result
tab page, you can display the following term-specific details of the evaluation:
Calculation Rule
Surcharge Rule
Period Determ. Quotation

On tab pages with a list of entries, an additional toolbar provides you with options to add, delete, or copy data.
If a formula contains references to Customizing objects, the system reads the attributes of these objects and displays them in the formula maintenance. If you change these attributes in the formula maintenance, the system deletes the reference to these Customizing objects and creates a document-specific object in the following way:
Changes of detailed term data
If the formula refers to a complete formula in Customizing, the system removes this reference. The formula and the term whose data has been changed refer to the document only. For other existing terms in this formula, the reference to Customizing remains.
If the formula does not refer to a complete formula in Customizing, but rather the term whose data has been changed refers to a term in Customizing, the system removes this reference. As result, this term input data only refers to the document from that point on.
If detailed formula data or term grouping data is changed, the system removes the reference to Customizing for this formula. As result, this formula becomes document-specific. The existing terms still refer to terms in Customizing.
This view allows you to display details of the formula assembly and the formula evaluation steps. When you perform formula analysis, this function calls again formula evaluation and formula assembly. During execution, detailed data is created and displayed in a table format. The data in this table can be filtered using various criteriathat allow you to examine the formula evaluation process in detail. The data displayed during formula analysis is not saved in the database.
