 Condition Record for Formula Assembly

Definition

A condition record for formula assembly defines the input and output values for a determination process of formulas in the document.

The condition record is created or changed within condition record maintenance and selected in the determination process.

The output values depend on the selected input values (for example, customer, customer group, product) and are valid for a certain time period.

Use

The system uses condition records for formula assembly as the basis for the condition technique. You use the condition records for formula assembly to determine that a formulais found either as a whole or is made up of individual parts in a document. These formula parts reference Customizing objects for commodity pricing, such as terms.

SAP delivers 32 condition tables: one per header and one for each item corresponding to the delivered condition types and access sequences. When accessing the header condition table, document header attributes are taken into consideration to determine the priority. The following attributes are used for accessing item condition tables:

  • The document header attributes used for the header condition table

  • Document item attributes

These attributes are taken into account for prioritization.

Condition Records for Formula Assembly are the entries in these condition table and are therefore defined in their structure.

If you want to include additional attributes, you must define your own condition tables for the Formula Assembly (FA) usage.

The usage FA uses the field catalog of application Vfor SD documents and the field catalog of application M for MM documents. The field catalogs contain all the attributes used in the condition tables.

If you want to use your own attributes in the usage FA and application V or M , you must extend the field catalog of application V or M accordingly.

Structure

The condition record for formula assembly consists of the following parts:

  • Specific for the condition technique

  • Specific for the usage FA of the condition technique

You define the structure of a condition record using the assigned condition table in Customizing. The condition table structures the condition record into search fields and results fields.

  • The search fields represent the criteria for a determination procedure, for example, customer, customer group, product in SD, or vendor, vendor group, product in MM.

  • The determination process produces formulas and formula parts in the results fields. These are combined to make formulas in the formula assembly step.

Integration

Condition records represent usage-specific master data of the condition technique.

Example

You have prepared various agreements with your customers, each of which are represented by different formulas. To enable the system to find a formula for a customer and product, you create the following condition records in the system:

  • Customer: Sample Ltd. - A basic formula

  • The customer above and product 'Commodity 1' - a product-specific formula

Customer and product are the search fields and the formula number is the result field of the condition record.
