Specifying Which Data Can Be Extracted

Use

The set of data segments that are included in DART defines which data can be extracted with DART. These segments can be part of the SAP-provided set of segments, or they can be segments that you or someone else has added to DART through customer enhancements .

However, by default, none of the segments are actually available to the user for extraction until you enable them in the configuration.

To allow DART users to extract data for a certain document type, you must enable that document type for data extraction. This enables the group of segments comprising the document to be extracted.

To enable extraction of data of customer-defined segments , you must also enable the Extract customer-defined data sources indicator.

You enable the various options for data extraction through the tabs on the Change settings for data extraction screen.

Procedure

From the main DART menu, choose Configuration Data extracts. .The Display settings for data extraction screen appears in display mode.

Choose Display<-> Change to place the screen in change mode.

The Transaction data , Master data , and Other data tabs together specify which data the user can include in an extraction. The following table describes how to configure these parameters:

Field Group	Configuring
Transaction data	Set the indicator for every transaction data source you wish to make available to the user. For example, if you set the indicator for Material documents (MM) , then the Extract data screen displays a Material documents (MM) indicator, allowing the user to include MM transaction data in the extraction. The indicator is displayed to the user as set by default. Your specifications in this configuration screen may also result in additional fields displayed to the user on the Extract data screen. For example, if you set the Asset documents (AM) indicator, then the Extract data screen also displays Depreciation area data entry fields. Similarly you can set the indicator for Statistical CO document items , if you wish to extract CO document items for statistical cost objects. Select Billing document pricing conditions, if billing document pricing conditions should be extracted with billing documents.
Master data	Flag the Standard cost center hierarchies , to include standard cost center hierarchies for selected controlling areas to be extracted.These can only be viewed with the Data extract browser . Likewise if you set the indicator for Standard profit center hierarchies you can extract profit center hierarchies for selected controlling areas that can only be viewed with the Data extract browser . Setting the Joint Venture Accounting master data indicator enables the user to select master data from the Joint Venture Accounting application in the Change Settings for Data Extraction screen. This field is displayed to the user as set by default.
Other data	Setting the Extract customer-defined data sources indicator includes this field in the Extract data screen. It is displayed to the user as set by default. Setting this indicator allows the user to extract the data as defined by the segments that you or someone else have added to DART.

Setting the Joint Venture Accounting master data indicator enables the user to select master data from the Joint Venture Accounting application in the Change Settings for Data Extraction screen. This field is displayed to the user as set by default.

Other data

Setting the Extract customer-defined data sources indicator includes this field in the Extract data screen. It is displayed to the user as set by default. Setting this indicator allows the user to extract the data as defined by the segments that you or someone else have added to DART.
