Use

This function enables you to create original batches for individual original orders or for combined orders when you use original batches simultaneously with the Order Combination function. However, there are various factors to take into account when you are using this function. These are discussed below.

Prerequisites

In Customizing for Batch Management, under  Logistics - General Batch Management Original Batch Permit Original Batches for Combined Orders , you have specified that original batches can be created for combined orders. If you do not make this setting, you can only create original batches for original orders.

Features

The Original Orders In Production (BMOBPRO) function enables you to create original batches for original orders of combined orders. When you create an original batch for a combined order, this batch is used for all the items in the original orders that are assigned to the combined order. This reduces the amount of data you have to enter: you only have to create one original batch for the combined order, instead of an original batch for each item in the original order.

However, in an order combination consisting of several original orders and one combined order, you can create original batches either only for the original order or only for the combined order For example, if you have created an original batch for at least one original order, you cannot create an original batch for a combined order. If an original batch already exists for the relevant combined order, it is not possible to create a different original batch for an original order.

You can also combine original orders with a variety of materials in a combined order. If these materials use the same original batch reference material, it may be practical to create an original batch on the level of the combined order. By executing message MILL_MM_OB 003, you can specify whether it is possible to create an original batch for a combined order that contains original orders with different materials.

In Customizing, you can specify whether message MILL_MM_OB 003 appears as a warning or an error message. If you want the system to display the message as a warning, you can create an original batch for the combined order. If you want the system to display the message as an error, you cannot create an original batch for the combined order.

You can specify the message type in Customizing for Logistics - General under  Basic Settings for SAP for Mill Products Define Attributes of System Messages.

In the batch where-used list, the system only displays the original batches on the level of the original orders, regardless of whether the original batch was created for the original or combined order.
