Using the Enterprise Hotel Catalog
Use
A global reservation system (GDS) lets you use an enterprise hotel catalog.
If your company has special agreements with certain hotels, or has preferences for particular hotels, you can create a hotel catalog specific to your company that contains all such hotels.
Caution
For the
Hotel
sector, we recommend that you control compliance with the travel policies stored in the travel planning system by setting up a hotel catalog or by entering negotiated hotel rates. This has the following advantages over using trip rules.
When you make an availability query , a limited number of available providers flows into the travel plan (due to the neutrality of the AMADEUS reservation system toward providers). The selection is random. This could mean that none of the hotels that have been assigned highest priority in the travel profileare displayed, even if they are available at the time of the query.
Using the hotel catalog eliminates this problem.
Activities
You have created a travel request and started an availability query for a hotel.
If the hotel catalog is activated and the system finds available hotels for the given time period and location, you can also display the availability of hotels not contained in the enterprise-specific hotel catalog.
After the first query, choose
Standard Query
from the dialog boxHotel Availability: Hotel List (Hotel Catalog)
.If the hotel catalog is activated (see also Define Price and Availability Strategies) and the system can find no available catalog hotels for the given time period and location, a standard availability query is started automatically in the connected reservation system (not using the hotel catalog) and these results are displayed.
You do not need to start an additional query.
