For processing statuses for an object, which is to be integrated in business processes, or retained for the purpose of notes, different document versions exist. A comparison between the old document version and the new version may be required for different reasons. The function
Load and Compare
provides you with support when comparing original application files.
Note
You can also compare original application files from document info records, which differ in all key fields.
Example
Because of complaints, the housing for a transmission is to be reinforced. This product change affects, among others, changes to the different original application files: for example, the change must be described in the
Specification
, and the transmission housing must be strengthened in the
Design Drawing.
A new version is created in the SAP system for the document info record. The source original application files are retained in the old version. The new document version contains the changed original application files.
You choose the original application file that is to be used for the comparison from a document list. If you want to limit the content of the document list for the current processing situation, you can implement the enterprise-specific checks using the following BAdI: DOCUMENT_ECL01
(Exits for Viewer in the DMS).
You can find the
(
Load and Compare)
function not in the viewer function bar, but in the function bar for processing original application files.
Choose
(
Load and Compare
).
You see the
Select Original
dialog box.
Expand the document version for the original application file that you want to include in the comparison.
If you want to select the original application file from another document info record, choose
New Selection.
You get a screen, from which you can start the document search. From the results list you can select one or more documents, and copy them into the document list for the comparison.
On the dialog window
Select Original
, select the original application file for the comparison, and press
(
Continue
)
You can check the content of the original application file.
