Status Management for Product Cost Collectors

When you create a manufacturing order that is linked to a product cost collector, the production order receives the status PCC (product cost collector).

You can still set statuses for the production order. During period-end closing in the Product Cost by Period component, the system first checks the status of the manufacturing order and then the status of the product cost collector. The status of the product cost collector overrides the status of the manufacturing order. The relevant status for period-end closing in Cost Object Controlling is the status of the product cost collector.

User Status

A user status that was defined for manufacturing orders can only be included by the product cost collector if that status was also defined for the product cost collector itself.

Example Example

Suppose you have defined a user status for production orders that prohibits variance calculation. If you collect the costs for a production order on a product cost collector, variance calculation for the product cost collector will only be prohibited if this status was also defined and set for the product cost collector.

End of the example.
