Business Partner Integration in Separate Logical Systems

Use

You use this function to integrate HR master data and organizational data with business partners if you run the applications in separate logical systems.

Features

  • The relevant HR master data and organizational data is transferred into the non-HR system using Application Link Enabling (ALE). Based on this data, business partners are created or updated in the target system.

  • The links between HR master data and organizational data with business partners are depicted as relationships in the HR application component, Organizational Management.

  • In the standard SAP system, fixed infotype fields from HR master data and organizational data are mapped to suitable business partner fields (see Integration with SAP Business Partner , under Features).

  • To safeguard data protection, you can hide data stored in the HR system that you do not want to be transferred to the logical system. For more information, see SAP Note 724149.

Activities

  1. Set up an ALE connection for the message type HRMD_ABA.

For more information, see SAP Note 200066. Alternatively, you can make Customizing settings directly in transaction SALE.

  2. In the HR system, call transaction BD64 to set a filter for the distribution model.

This filter is required to ensure that permitted data only is transferred to the non-SAP system. You can use templates to create filters (see SAP Note 615896) or you can make the following filter settings manually:

    Infotype

    Subtype

    Object Type

    0000, 0001, 0002

    P

    0006

    1

    P

    0105

    0001, 0005, 0010, 0020

    P

You must then generate the partner profile and distribute the distribution model.

  3. Set up number ranges for the number range object RP_PLAN.

In the source and target system, you must set up disjunct number ranges for the HR objects O (organizational unit), S (position), and C (job). That is, the ranges that are used in the HR system must be set up as external intervals in the target system. Numbers for new objects in the target system must be taken from a different range.

  4. Check in the target system whether Customizing is set up according to your requirements for integration with SAP Business Partner
