Function documentationAction Box

You can use the Action Box (ABOX_SLIM) component to access functions used to edit business objects.

Integration

If you select a business object in the Business Object Display and then access a function for editing the business object in the Action Box, you can edit the business object in the selected transaction.

You can set up fast entry of key business partner data for the Action Box. For more information, see Fast Processing of Business Partner Data in the CIC.

Prerequisites

You want to access functions and HTML pages so that you can edit the business objects such as business partners, orders or contracts associated with a business tranasction from a single interface.

In Customizing for Customer Service under Start of the navigation path Customer Interaction Center (CIC) Next navigation step Component Configuration Next navigation step Action Box Settings Next navigation step Define Configuration Profiles for Action Box End of the navigation path, you have created a configuration profile for the Action Box component.

You have assignd transactions to the transaction groups, defined methods used to access transactions, defined the data flow from and to Business Object Display for each transaction and defined the function keys that can be used to access transactions.

Note Note

The reference clients for SAP Media contain the configuration profile AB_STD_1 for the Action Box.

End of the note.

If you have selected the New Window indicator, the transaction opens in a new window.

If you have selected the Execute in Application Area Where Possible indicator, the transaction opens in a tab page in the Application Area. Since these transactions are displayed using the Internet Transaction Server (ITS) and the SAPGUI for HTML (WebGUI), you have also defined the URL for accessing the ITS inCustomizing for SAP Media.

Note Note

One media-specific component that can be accessed using the Action Box on a tab page in the Application Area is the

HTML Customer Overview. See also: HTML Customer Overview

End of the note.

If you want to generate the tab page for accessing BSP applications or another tab page dynamically from the Action Box, you have assigned the business object CIC Support Object (BUSISMCIC) to the corresponding transaction using the BOR method StartBSPWorkspace or StartWorkspace. If you have selected the Workspace Lifecycle indicator, the system deletes the tab page generated dynamically as soon as the next transaction is called.

If you want to assign transactions to function keys without using an action box call, you can use a GUI status that you define to do so.

You have assigned the visible component Action Box (ABOX_SLIM) to a framework with the invisible component Invisible Action Box(HIDDEN_ABOX).

You have assigned the configuration profile created above to a CIC profile with the profile type ACTION_BOX_CONFIGURATION_SLIM.

Features

Transactions in the Action Box can be accessed using pull-downmenus and function keys:

  • Each transaction group corresponds to a pull-down menu. You can create a maximum of eight pull-down menus.

  • You have defined the function keys that can be used to call a transaction when you created the configuration profile.
