Note
Preprocessing programs prepare the data in the database for archiving, for example by marking records for archiving. Archive files are not created. Preprocessing is not usually necessary.

The
Archive Administration: Preprocessing
screen appears in which you can schedule a background job for the program.
Choose a variant using input help. If there are no existing variants, choose
Variants
to maintain the desired variant.
You can only use a variant in
one
job. Otherwise, data could be archived more than once. If you use a variant again, a dialog box notifies of this. Choose
Jobs with Selected Variant
to access the overview of all jobs that already have variants created. In the job overview, you can delete jobs using a specific variant.
Maintain the Start Date and the Spool Parameters .
Note
The
Archive Directory
function enables you to establish how much free space there is in the current object-specific archive directory.
You have now entered all the data needed for the background job. Choose
Create Job
to create the job.
