 Scheduling Postprocessing

Prerequisites

  • A postprocessing program exists for the archiving object (not all archiving objects have a postprocessing program).

Note Note

The postprocessing program processes the data after the archiving session in the database, for example, by deleting log data that is no longer required or by updating statistics. For this, no access to the archive files is required. Postprocessing is not usually necessary.

End of the note.
  • You are in the Archive Administration: Initial Screen (transaction SARA ). You have entered the name of the archiving object in the Object Name field.

Procedure

  1. Select Postprocessing . This takes you to the Archive Administration: Postprocessing screen, in which you can schedule a background job for the program.

  2. Choose a variant using input help. If there are no existing variants, choose Variants to maintain the desired variant.

  3. Maintain the Start Date and the Spool Parameters .

Note Note

The Archive Directory function enables you to establish how much free memory space there is in the current object-specific archive directory.

End of the note.

Result

You have now entered all the data needed for the background job. To create the job, choose Execute .
