  Reference Measuring Point

Definition

Measuring point that you can assign to the Reference Functional Locations . The reference measuring point with its data (for example, maximum counter reading, target values) is transferred to the measuring point when calibrating a Functional Location .

A certain marking turns the reference measuring point into a reference counter, a special form of the reference measuring point.

Use

The assignment of reference measuring points to reference functional locations ensures that creating and changing functional locations is quick, easy, and error-free.

You cannot create measurement documents for reference measuring points. You cannot assign equipment to reference measuring points.

Structure

To enable you to differentiate more easily between the individual reference measuring points and provide them with a unit, you assign each reference measuring point to a characteristic from the classification system. You can use the characteristics to evaluate similar reference measuring points.

Reference measuring points are structured exactly the same way as measuring points. For further information on the structure (for example, measuring point categories, measurement positions, measurement areas, measurement ranges, measurement range limits, and measurement range units), see Measuring Points and Counters (CS-IB-MC / PM-EQM-SF-MPC) .
