Use

In the past, no authorization was required to display, edit or extract from a DataSource in the SAP source system (OTLP). In Customizing for the extractors (transaction SBIW in the source system) you were able to exclude DataSources from the extraction.  An authorization check was introduced for the DataSource in the SAP source system (OLTP) with PI Basis 2006.1.  The authorization object S_RO_OSOA is checked when you display, edit or extract.

Effects on System Administration

If in the past you did not define any restrictions in Customizing for the extractors, you now have two options:

●      Users working with DataSources can continue to do so without restrictions:

Set up the authorizations for DataSources in the OLTP using the role template S_RO_OSOA_TMPL.

●      Users can now work with DataSources with restrictions.

Set up the user profiles or roles using the authorization object S_RO_OSOA.

Effects on Customizing

The restrictions that you defined in the Customizing for the extractions are obsolete in PI Basis 2006.1 and are not checked. Copy the restrictions to the new authorizations manually.
