Configuring the CUA – LDAP
Connection
In this process, you set up the connection between the CUA central system and the LDAP directory service with which you later synchronize the user data.
...
1. Configure the LDAP connector
In this step, you configure the LDAP connector that controls the access requests of the AS ABAP system to a directory service.
2. Configure connection data for the directory service
In this step, you specify the precise connection data.
3. Define system user of the directory service
In this step, you specify the directory service authentication data (system user) with which the AS ABAP system logs on to the directory server.
4. Extend directory schema
In this step, you extend the directory schema with SAP-specific fields, either by manually creating the directory attributes or by generating them.
5. Map SAP data fields to directory attributes
In this step, you must map the SAP data fields to attributes of the directory service that contain the data that they both use.
Since different directory services also use different schemas for storing the data, you must determine which SAP data fields correspond to which directory attributes. This need not always result in a one-to-one mapping. A field can be mapped to several attributes.
6. Set mapping indicators
In this step, you determine the purpose of the mapping (Export, Import, Relative Distinguished Name (RDN), Filter, Required and System).
7. Set synchronization indicators
In this step, you set the required indicators (Import or Export) to define, from the point of view of the AS ABAP system, whether the objects are exported or imported during synchronization.
You have defined the connection between the CUA central system and the LDAP-compatible directory service.
