 Request for a Status Change

Purpose

You use this process to request a status change for a succession plan. You must request status changes if you do not have the necessary authorization for making status changes. You do not have this authorization if you are assigned the Restricted Succession Planner role.

Process Flow

  1. You use the appropriate wizard to create a succession plan.

  2. You choose the Status tab page to release the succession plan.

  3. The system indicates the status changes for which you require approval.

  4. You specify a status and, if need be, the reason why you want to set this status.

  5. You try to save your entries.

  6. The system informs you that you must get the status change approved.

  7. You select an approver.

To enable you to do so, the system displays a list of persons who are stored in the Support Team of the succession plan and who have the required authorizations for status changes. If necessary, you must assign another person with the relevant authorization to the support team.

  8. The system triggers a workflow, which is used to send a request for status change to the approver. The approver receives an automatic e-mail and finds the request in his or her list of status change requests (see also: Workflow for Approving a Succession Plan ).

  9. Until the requested status is approved, the succession plan remains in the status Draft . Status changes can now only be made by the approver.

Result

You have requested a status change. The succession planner to whom you sent the request will approve the status change or reject it if necessary. In each case, you receive an automatically generated e-mail informing you of the decision.
