Checking the Reel and Cable Parameters

Use

The system compares the reel master data with the cable parameters for each reel (reel type) specified in the reel sequence, in order to determine whether the reel can be used in the reel calculation.

Features

The following conditions must be fulfilled:

  • The core diameter of the reel type must be greater than the minimum core diameter. The system determines this in the following manner, using the bending factor that is entered in the cable material master:

Minimum core diameter = bending factor x cable diameter

  • If a run-out flange has been maintained for a reel in the cable material master, the system checks whether the reel type has a run-out flange. The reel material master must also include the thickness and height of the run-out flange.

  • The cable weight must not exceed the load capacity of the reel.

If any of the conditions cannot be fulfilled, the system proceeds to the next reel type in the sequence.
