  Change Addresses

Purpose

The Change address Internet application component can be integrated on the publisher’s homepage. A key that references various Customizing settings is transferred in the key used to access this function. This IAC, like all IS-M IACs, can be offered in various forms simultaneously. These forms are defined using topics. Additional information about this is available in the general ITS documentation.

Process Flow

There are two types of customer logon for this Internet application component:

  • Explicit logon on a logon screen

  • Implicit logon using a change form.

Choose the access that best meets your requirements. Select an indicator or make this indicator initial in the Customizing settings for identifying and checking a business partner.

  • Explicit logon on a logon screen

    1. Once the customer has accessed the application, a logon screen appears (SAPMJKWWW02_0100.HTML). The system prompts the user to log on using particular data. This data is also defined by Customizing settings and the way in which the HTML template used for logon has been designed.

    2. Once the customer has logged on successfully, the change form appears (SAPMJKWWW02_0200.HTML template). The system uses the previous address to define the fields for entering a new address. You must also specify the date from which the new address is to be valid.

    3. Once the new address has been saved and a successful data check has been performed, the confirmation screen appears. (SAPMJKWWW02_0300.HTML template). The system displays the new address for verification by the customer. If errors occurred during the address check, the change form is processed again and the customer is informed that an error has occurred.

  • Implicit logon using a change form.

    1. The customer accesses the change form (SAPMJKWWW02_0200.HTML) directly. This form should be designed so that additional fields for implicit logon can be displayed. The customer can be asked to enter their customer number and existing address. The customer also enters their new address here.

    2. The Save function is used to identify the customer and perform the checks required. In the example above, identification can be performed using the customer number. The system checks the address data that has been entered against existing addresses for this customer in the system to eliminate any duplicates. If this is successful, the system checks the new address using the same procedure as that used in the explicit logon. The confirmation screen (SAPMJKWWW02_0300.HTML template) appears once the update has been performed.

Result

The business partner address is changed to the new address from the date specified. The system overwrites any address changes that are scheduled for the period following this date. The changed address is entered in the worklist for the report used to synchronize orders in the event of address changes. Data can also be recorded in a temporary table from where it can be post-edited.
