Configured Sub-Items from Rule-Based Availability Check

Use

This function enables your DIMP system to transfer the configuration of sub-items determined by an availability check in a planning system to sales documents.

Integration

The function is available in sales documents for configurable materials.

Prerequisites

If you want to use this function, you must already have made the following settings:

  • You have activated the function in Customizing of Sales and Distribution at Start of the navigation path Basic Functions Next navigation step Availability Check and Transfer of Requirements Next navigation step Availability Check Next navigation step Rule-Based Availability Check Next navigation step Copying of Characteristic Values for Sub-Items End of the navigation path .

  • You have assigned all characteristics relevant to planning (i.e. all characteristics that the planning system uses for the availability check) to the configurable material using a class of class type 300.

  • You have made sure that not only the data of the sales document but also the corresponding configuration characteristics have been transferred to the planning system.

  • You have made sure that an availability check is performed in your planning system; this check generates sub-items with configuration characteristics and transfers them to your DIMP system.

Features

If you use this function, the DIMP system adopts the configured sub-items in the sales document for which the availability check was performed.

In most cases, you cannot change the configuration of this subitem in the DIMP system. You can make changes only if the configuration is incomplete or inconsistent.

Background documentation

You can use the Business Add-In (BAdI) /SAPMP/R3CDP_SDSLS to change the data that the planning system transfers to the DIMP system. For example, you can change or supplement the configuration of the sub-items.

When the DIMP system adopts the configured sub-items in the sales document, it processes the corresponding object dependency. This enables you to change the item data of a sub-item using object characteristics with reference to the VCSD_UPDATE structure.

Note Note

Make sure that the dependency does not change the item quantity of the sub-item in the base unit of measure.

End of the note.
