 Process Components in Planned Order

Procedure

Choose Components .

The component overview for the planned order material appears. The system displays the component processing status that was saved last. If you have recreated the planned order, the system explodes the BOM and copies the BOM items generated into the planned order as components.

Changing Components

  1. Double-click on a component.

The system displays the material number, plant and item number for the component selected in the lower screen area. The system displays additional information according to the item category. You can take the item category from the Item category column.

Item Category

Displayed/Processible Information

Stock item

  • Requirement quantity and unit of measure, requirements date

  • Firming indicator

If you set the firming indicator for a component, the quantity of the component is firmed and, thus, will not be changed during the planning run. It can only be changed manually.

  • Distribution key

The distribution key defines which calculation rule is to be used for dividing the dependent requirement for the component into partial quantities, if not all of the total quantity has to be available for the start of production. You can use to view the chronological distribution of the partial quantities.

  • Latest requirement date

The latest requirement date sets a limit for the period allowed for the distribution of partial quantities.

  • By selecting , you can access the additional data of the component (long text, scrap data, other data).

  • By choosing Availability check , you can access the availability check for the component.

  • If a long text has been created for a component, you can access this by choosing .

Non-stock item

  • Requirement quantity and unit of measure, requirements date, firming indicator (see above)

  • By choosing Procurement , you access a dialog box with the additional data for direct procurement. If a purchase requisition or planned order for direct procurement has not yet been created by the planning run for the non-stock item, you receive a corresponding message in the status line.

Variable-sized item

  • Requirement quantity and unit of measure, requirements date, firming indicator, distribution key, latest requirement date (see above)

  • By selecting , you can access the additional data of the component (long text, scrap data, other data).

  • By choosing Availability check , you can access the availability check for the component.

  • By choosing Sizes , you access a dialog box with the corresponding data.

Text item

In the Texts area, the system displays the entered long texts.

Phantom assembly

The requirements for a phantom assembly are passed on to the components as dependent requirements. Therefore, in the upper part of the screen, the system displays the components of the phantom assembly as well as the phantom assembly itself.

  • Requirement quantity and unit of measure, requirements date, firming indicator, distribution key, latest requirement date (see above)

  • By selecting , you can access the additional data of the component (long text, scrap data, other data).

  • By choosing From stock , you can have the system create a dependent requirement for a phantom assembly itself that is kept in stock and not directly for the components. You thereby deactivate the Phantom assembly special procurement for this planned order. A dialog box appears where you can enter the issue quantity. If you withdraw the complete quantity the system will only display the phantom assembly in the component overview. The components disappear. If you withdraw a partial quantity, the system adapts the quantities for the phantom assembly and for the components correspondingly.

  1. Access the next item with and process it.

You access the previous item with . By choosing Component overview, you close the screen area for processing components and return to the component overview.

Creating Components

You can create a storage location item or a variable-sized item.

  • Collective Entry

Using the collective entry option, you can create several new components at the same time. For each component, a line exists in which you can enter the material number, the requirement quantity and the requirements date. Choose Collective entry for this .

  • Detail Entry

In the detailed entry screen, you can enter detailed data for an individual component. Choose Detail entry .

In the lower part of the screen, a section is displayed where you can enter the following data for the new component: material number, requirement quantity and unit of measure, requirements date, firming indicator, distribution key, latest requirement date.

If the new component should be a stock item and not a variable-size item, choose Variable-size data. A dialog box appears where you can enter the corresponding data.

Deleting Components

Select the component that you want to delete and choose Start of the navigation path Edit Next navigation step Delete. End of the navigation path

The selected component is deleted.

Retrieving Deleted Components

Choose Start of the navigation path Goto Next navigation step Display deleted entries Next navigation step . End of the navigation path

Select the required components and choose .

The system displays the deleted components in the component overview again.

Caution Caution

If you create components in the components processing screen manually, these new components will be overwritten when you then manually explode the BOM. The manually created components are thus deleted again. You can retrieve these deleted components by following the steps described above.

End of the caution.

Displaying Documents for the Header Material and for the Components

  1. Choose .

  2. In the left screen area, the system displays a structure tree with the components for the planned order. If you work with phantom assemblies, the system displays the phantom assemblies and their components hierarchically. You can thus get an overview of the structure of the planned order quickly.

  3. Click with the right mouse button on the header material or on a component in the tree.

  4. If you have assigned documents to the material (either in the material master or, if the material is used as a BOM item, in BOM maintainence), a list of all the documents assigned appears.

  5. Select a document.

The system displays the document in an internal or external viewer. You determine the selection of the viewer in Customizing for document management in the IMG activity Define workstation application .

You can find further information about the internal viewer under Viewer for Displaying Original Files .

Note Note

Choose in the structure tree and then Enter , if you have deleted or created components and want to update the structure tree correspondingly.

End of the note.
